Sudden Spike in GB Usesge

So I switched to the new data plan and suddenly Verizon says I'm using twice the GB I was previously. Same with my wife's phone; separate account. Anybody else notice a spike in data use?

Could you provide a little more information, such as the device you are using, any new apps that were recently downloaded.

If iOS 9 and higher is installed, check in Settings > Cellular and turn off WiFi Assist. It is located at the bottom of the Cellular settings screen.

I called Verizon separately for each line. One tech told me that it was my wifi provider upgrading their system too much, which is not true; the other noted the huge spike from months of previous use, but had no answers.

It can also help to manually turn off the cellular data connection when you expect to be connected to a wifi router for extended periods of time to ensure you are connecting only to the wifi router.
