After being able to receive my emails for years, yesterday I started getting a message that my server was not connecting. I checked all settings and they are correct. Turned phone off and on a few times. Nothing has changed.

   Klmclain, is this pop 3 account working when accessed over the computer?

What I would do is delete the account from the iPhone. Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Then go back to your home page and click on the Mail icon. You'll get a window that comes up - Welcome to Mail. Add your user name and password to re-establish the account.

   Klmclain, what are you using for a email account, is it iCloud? Also have you tried any of these remedies in this link?

I am using a pop 3 account but like I said it has always worked for a couple of years now

I did delete the account and just know added it back. I think this has helped only now I get over 1,000 emails every time I try to check it.

   Kimclain, do you know these people, lol? Sounds like you're getting bombed with spam. You're probably gonna have to change email accounts, or see if you can change user name for that account, I doubt just changing password would be enough to eliminate it.

  If you also use this email account on a Windows computer I'd do a good safety scan. At worst if this email account is also sending out emails that you didn't send yet appear to have come from that account, then the account could have been hijacked.

Klmclain, I would be lost without my emails. Let’s figure this out. You stated in your last message that your getting older message; are you retrieving any newer emails now?

Yes just started getting newer emails also but still getting a large number from months ago as well. Hope that stops soon

Kim, lets get that mail under control. Now that you are getting your mail you can go to the account in your computer and set it up to sync the amount of mail or days back you want to see. You can also do this in your phone to keep your storage space from being used up.
