Upgraded to 6s and now have very weak signal. Never had this problem before

Three of us have 6s.  All are having terrible signals where previously Verizon was excellent.  Friends with AT&T service don't have the problem.  Suggestions?  Seems like Verizon has degraded their signal delivery.

What were your previous phones? The iPhone 6S supports a number of newer LTE frequencies. It could be locking onto Band 4 LTE or Band 2 LTE, if you're referencing the signal strength while the phone is connected to LTE.

It's not Verizon, it's the phone. Unfortunately some iPhone models are not the best performers in marginal signal areas.

And.....you didn't have the problem before, because you didn't have a 6s before.

We want you to enjoy your new phone to the max, MikeLV. Do you have this signal issue in a particular place (home, school, office)? What is trouble area ZIP code? We’ll take a closer look at the area.

The problem is at our summer house in Pilot Knob on Lake George, NY - zip 12844.

This is the only place we are experiencing the problem.  In previous years, we always had a much stronger Verizon signal here than we have this year.  For example, last year usually 5 bars, sometimes it would drop to 4.  This year it is usually 2 bars, often dropping to 1, if we are really lucky it gets up to 3.  Friends who have 6S phones on AT&T get perfect reception here.  It used to be the other way around.

Previous phones were 5S and 4S.

smith6612 has it right I suspect.  Connecting to band 4 rather than band 13. As long as you have 2 bars, LTE works great, and if voice, text and data work, don't worry about it.  Consider activating wifi calling.  To prove, go in settings - cellular - cellular data options and temporarily turn Enable LTE off.
