Same phones, same spot. My husband will get LTE service and I get 3G. My phone is up to date and he's not as great about keeping his up. Why??

both are the iPhone 5c?? and you state yours has the latest updates and his does not, correct.. ??make sure both are fully charged battery wise.. shut both off for a few seconds and turn them back on.. see if you are still pulling at the 3G and his at the LTE... if so the last update may be the reason why.. I know my phone can go from 3G all the way down to a standard basically nothing and bounce back and forth while in the same location and I am about 1 block from the tower.. it is hard to say ..but hoping the shutting down resets it

I wanted to see if its just the signal indicator that's just not coming on or if you actually have poor speeds. That's the reasoning for my previous request.

Can you try installing the OOKLA speedtest from the App Store on both your and your husbands iPhones and report the speed results? What I want to see is how the speeds your each receiving while ignoring the the 3G/4G icons.

Are you able to get LTE anywhere outside of your house?

Check settings, network -- is it set to LTE/CDMA or Global and is it the same on both phones? LTE/CDMA is the one it should be set to for use in your home area.
