how to keep my unlimited data

I've had 4 service reps tell me 4 different things. No matter what I do even if selecting full price it always tells me to select a new data plan. I just want to deactivate my phone and activate a new one - No matter where I try to buy a phone from here, apple, or best buy everyone says I can keep the same plan, but tells me to add data.  Well my 'plan' includes unlimited data, it is not an add on or an extra. So why can't I just buy a phone for full price and activate it?

I have purchased my phones at full value every since they made it a requirement to keep unlimited. I preordered the iPhone 6 last year from Verizon at full retail. I went to Best Buy in January and paid full retail for the iPhone 6 Plus. Not sure what's going on with the websites but you can and must pay full retail to keep unlimited data. If you're having issues on line you may need to call in or go to a store on launch day to avoid any issues.

Not sure which phone you're trying to buy but have you tried going in store to get your phone? You can and must pay full retail to keep your unlimited data.

I've been told it's not possible then I come on here where people say they have done it.

I've been told to buy a phone for full price- which none of the sites let me

I've been told to buy a phone as a new customer with a new plan. Cancel the plan before the phone arrives, and then activate the phone on the new account. Yeah right

Verizon is being deceptive. I just want to know how to do it

Go on the Apple Store and order the Verizon phone with no plan. It's on there I checked. Not sure why you are having trouble. When I bought my 6 Plus that is what I did and I had no issues. Do NOT cancel your plan. You want the phone and nothing else then activate it on your line.

not sure, i go to apple select the phone I want, then select carrier verizon then full price. The next page asks me if I want to replace a phone, add a line, or create a new account. If I pick replace a phone or add a line it makes me pick a data plan.

There is no option to buy one without a plan

I just went through the process just to see what you may have been running in to...I am able to place an order for full retail without needing to change my plan. I know you said you have an unlimited data plan but I'm wondering if you are somehow under contract? I have an unlimited data plan and Apples website is allowing me to order exactly like I've explained with no issues.

I guess I will have to wait and go try it in person. My contract has been up for awhile. My unlimited data is free- it's INCLUDED in my plan. It's not an add on service to my plan for 29.99 or 39.99 I think this is where the problem is coming in.

You really need to go somewhere and pay full retail, ensuring that the purchase is not tied to your current line of service. They try to tie it in, but you just need to be able to pay full price and walk out. With new releases I've seen cases where they will try NOT to sell you an iPhone without tying it to your contract. They're not supposed to deny you, but when supplies are short and lines are long, Apple stores sometimes do wacky things.
