iPhone 6s Plus stuck on vibrate/silent

I bought my phone Saturday and today (Monday) I used the silent mode for the first time by clicking the switch on the side. Ever since I clicked it back for regular sound mode it's been messed up. It either stays on silent or jumps back and forth between modes on its own, the majority of time staying on silent.  Anyone have this problem?

try toggling the switch a few times and restarting your phone by pressing and holding down the Power and the Home (circle) button for about 20 seconds until you see the apple appear

Thank you.  I did a "reboot" a few times and even reset back to factory settings. That didn't work so I just took the case off and toggled the switch back and forth a few times as you suggested.  It seemed like it worked so I thought the case was messing with the button.....until it just started doing it again as I type this! So frustrating!

so the case is off and the issue persists?

Correct. I went to settings and turned off the option to have the side buttons control the volume. The case is back on and so far it's working. I don't see how the side volume buttons would have any effect on the toggle switch but I'm trying anything at this point!

Haven't had this issue but since you're still under the 14 day return period you can have them exchange it for a new one. Or if you are near an Apple Store you can go to them and they will replace it if it's a clear defect. I assume all sound settings are correct under settings. Do you notice the switch being loose?

The switch seems ok. I've checked the settings over and over again to see if something was different than I usually have it. All looked normal. It's very strange. I was heading to Verizon tomorrow but I also have an Apple Store fairly close by. Which do you think is best?

I always recommend the Apple Store over Verizon if you have one nearby. They are more apt to accurately diagnose an issue and will replace it on the spot if necessary.

Ok, that's what I'll do!  Thanks for your help!

while I'd typically recommend the Apple location as well, you may want to consider calling and inquiring about their return policy. A large portion of the customer base does not want a reconditioned model so soon after purchasing a new one. call the Apple location you'll be visiting to make sure you'll get a new phone. through Verizon (within the 14 worry-free guarantee) your return will be processed as DOA and you will get a new phone, not a reconditioned model.

(note: I have no issue with reconditioned models as they're covered by the same warranty)
