I've had this problem for 2 days now. restarted it, turned roaming off and on and 50 other things. any ideas?

Do any other phones have signal where you are? If not, it may be a network issue in the area. If only your phone is having the issue, I'd recommend Reset Network Settings, and going to Settings > General > About, and verifying that an ICCID is listed (that will verify that the phone is still communicating with its SIM card). If those check out, try going to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options, and changing your Enable LTE setting.

Try to do a factory reset to see if that fixes the problem. If that doesn't do the trick try taking it to apple it could be the phone.
