anyone know how to get a list of messages between two numbers- dating back 12 months for court purposes?

Princess444,

You can get lists of all your text messages going back 18 months by logging into your Verizon account online.

Once logged in, look for "Other Actions" in the left column.

Click that and then "View Billed Usage".

Select a monthly bill and the view Messages. You will see a list of all sent/received messages.

You can download those lists to your computer to save the list.
