I bought an ipad and set it up with a tablet phone number ($10/mo). Why don't texts go to it? Anything I send to the number dedicated to that number don't get delivered.

Hi HippyJr6,
We know having just the right features on your tablet is vital. Your messages should be flowing smoothly. What make/model iPad do you have? Is the iPad activated on Verizon Wireless Postpaid or Prepaid services?
Thanks,

Do you have an iPhone as well? If so go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding (on your iPhone). You can set you text messages up to go to your iPad. This is what I have setup between my iPad, iMac and MacBook. Let us know if this helps.

I know its important to have messaging working on all your devices HippyJr6. We will need to ensure this feature is enabled in our system. You can reach us by phone, chat, or social media.

I got the ipad for my visually challenged mother-in-law. And so I do not want to forward my text messages to it.
I am hoping she will be able to use it for text messages instead of her small flip phone. The iPad has a designated "phone" number and should be activated but so far no messages come through. Thank you for your ideas.

I know its important to make sure you mother-in-law can communicate via text on this awesome device HippyJr6. This can only be accomplished via Verizon Messages. Here is a link with the information about Verizon Messages http://vz.to/1lzgwGI .
