Which carrier is the device coming from and which carrier is it going to?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

If your looking to bring the device to VZW you can use the BYOD tool I've pasted below to check compatibility:
Bring Your Own Phone or Device - BYOD | Verizon Wireless
If the device is going to another carrier it can depend on that carrier. I believe when VZW ran promos prior on BYOD for iPhone they generally don't focus on iPhone 7 due to limitations brining the device to the network - if I recall correctly.

That's definitely good information to know MBECKHORN. I welcome the opportunity to address your inquiry. As bd94s10 advised, you can check the device ID to see if it's compatible for use on our network via the website linked. Some carriers do lock their devices until they've been paid off making them ineligible for use on outside networks. Our devices are unlocked standard once they've been activated on our network first. Accordingly, so long as our device has been activated via our SIM card on our towers, then it may be able to be used with a different carrier. You would however have to check with that carrier for compatibility. Please know that we cannot guarantee that all services will work when using an unlocked device. I hope this information is beneficial.
