Updates should improve the device! Sorry to hear that this is not happening. What did you update on the device? Is the device charged? If so, what happens when you plug in the charger? Try a soft reset by holding down the home key & the power btton at the same time http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-115076/.
