How can you get a supervisor - escalation

I started the process of trying to return an Apple Watch purchased on March 13 over two weeks ago. First I went to the corporate store - they told me I had to call the 1 800. I did that, and had an extremely confused call agent who sent me a label. I explained I was on my way out of town, and that I could return item when I returned.  So now, five days past the 30 day period, another agent says “no”, it’s too late.  Been a Verizon customer for decades - purchased so many items, but this is ridiculous.  Anyone have a number for escalation that will actually work?
