4s in Grand Cayman - coverage?

Sorry for what might be a stupid post - I'm vacationing on Grand Cayman island - called Verizon earlier in the week, they said they have CDMA coverage on the island, so no changes would be necessary for my phone - they sent me the FAQ/email on rates and what not.  However, I have no service on the island - I've been all over - in town, in the country, etc - nothing.  Is there something in the settings I need to change?

 

I have an iPhone 4s with 5.0.1
