I recently purchased an Apple Watch on Verizon. My phone number is part of an unlimited plan with my brother. I wanted to move my plan to a separate and new account and also add an Apple Watch to the plan. The reps at the store informed me that, that would not be advisable as I would miss out on promotions and a 45$ plan would go up to 80$ if I did that. Since I need my own phone account and billing for reasons of my own I asked if I could have a separate account with only my watch and if that would work with my phone. I was informed I could do that. Now I am unable to set up cellular on my phone with the plan already assigned and need to have a new plan on the account which mg phone number is on. Iโm wondering if I could get some advise on proceeding further.

We're sorry to read that you're having issues with getting your phone set up on your new account. Did you get a new SIM card for your device? ~Peter

yes I did get a sim with the device. But my phone is on another account and because of this the connection does not seem to work. Not sure if the phone and the watch can exist in different accounts but retain full functionality.

@Benjamin2024if your phone is now not working with your new account, it's probably because the number is still linked to your brother's account since it was originally set up under your brother's account. If he can't un-link the number from his account, someone in Verizon will have to do that first before your number will work in your account. As for the Apple Watch and any promotions, depending on how the purchase was made and what account you had it set up under, the promotional offer may or may not apply with your new account.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
