Better Deals From Apple

My wife and I have been with Verizon for over 10 years, I even had my business lines through them. Our phones are in pristine shape and totally paid off and we’re ready for an upgrade. Now that the BOGO deal isn’t around, the only option is $100 off an iPhone 12?

I just spoke with a service rep and they priced the phones for me, I can get a whopping $3 month off! Of course, if we were moving to another carrier we could get a phone for next to nothing. But we’ve been happy with Verizon and don’t want to move so we feel stuck. It’s pretty disappointing that there’s no love for loyal customers.

I even went directly to Apple and I could get an unlocked iPhone 12 for far less plus $140 trade-in for each phone, which I could then activate with Verizon.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Where’s the best deal? Is it worth it to change carriers?

Thanks!

I am a consumer myself so I understand getting the best deal on a phone, Jacostar46. We certainly don't want to see you go. We do have offers for our new and existing customers. You can take advantage of all our deals but certain restrictions apply and you have to decide it is best for you and your family. We are always changing our promotions. I can always double check your account to see what I can offer for you. I have sent you a private message to further help. -AmberF_VZW

I have been with Verizon since 1993 and I don't get ANY break either on new phones. Most deals are now based on adding a line which is not needed or for new customers.

I just bought an iPhone 12 for my wife from Apple. We traded her iPhone X and Apple gave us $250 for it, hassle free. However I will still be charged the activation fee from Verizon because I put the phone on their network.

Advice- If you have a phone to trade for credit, DO NOT send it to Verizon. Please read through out this forum to find many posts explaining lost trade-in phones and/or credit given at lower amounts than quoted. Apple is straight up to work with and makes it easy. Also, I highly recommend Apple Care, NOT Verizon's warranty. Again, there are many problems with that and Apple is great and easy to work with.

These are just my opinions. Good luck.

Thank you for your loyalty since 1993. Getting the best value for your money is essential, and our mission is to provide our customers with all the options available to them. If you don’t have a need for an additional line there’s no need to despair, we have other options available for you. Please tell us, are your lines eligible for an upgrade?

Carrier's don't owe you anything beyond working phone service. Also been with Verizon for a long time and have a special plan not available to new customers. If I switched to a "cheap" carrier like Tmobile, I'd end up spending more.

Look at Verizon for what it is, a cell phone service. If you can get the phone itself elsewhere, do it. Verizon doesn't care and neither should you. My last 2 purchases definitely weren't through them.
