I'm looking into buying a refurbished iPhone 6s from Best Buy, but I want to make sure I could still use the phone with Verizon's prepaid plan. The phone shows that the carrier would be with Verizon, so should I go ahead and give it a shot or reconsider? I've checked Verizon's refurbished/pre-owned and they don't have any available iPhone 6/6s, otherwise I'd be buying from them and save myself the trouble.

Yes, as long as it is either Verizon branded or compatible with Verizon bands and frequencies, you should be able to use it just fine on prepaid.

Silverinu, you might also want to check what type warranty if any comes with a refurbished iPhone 6s from Best Buy.
I had my iPhone 6s Plus repaired this week at a Apple Store for a cracked screen, and was told by them that if anyone works on the iPhone other than Apple or their authorized representative it will void the warranty.
