CONFERENCE CALL?

How do you end a conference call without ending all calls?  Example:  Your on the phone with one party and decide to call a 2nd party.  The 2nd party doesnt answer.  How do you disconnect the 2nd party without losing the 1st party?

I can defintiely assist with conference calls on the iPhone 5; it's really a great feature. In order to drop a person from the conversation, Tap Conference, tap the red phone icon next to the person, then tap End Call.

Why doesn't Verizon have the functionality to drop, add, switch between calls on a samsung galaxy 4? seems like basic conference calling technology.
