My first comment to the community and, boy, am I unimpressed with Verizon (see username). The drop down menu under "Sub-topic" above doesn't include iPhone 14s!

Sometimes, I cannot complete a toll-free call on my new iPhone 14 Pro Max. For example, today I tried to multiple times to call a toll-free yesterday.  It appeared as though the call went through but, in a few seconds, a Call Failed notice appeared with two buttons (Cancel and Call Back). Pressing Call Back resulted in the same results. Today I tried calling a toll-free customer support line for a different company. The same thing happened. I live less than a mile from the nearest cellular tower and had four bars of signal strength both times. Then, to make things even weirder, I tried the number from yesterday and got through. Restarting it doesn't fix the issue. My caller ID is not blocked, as I called a second phone and my name appeared.

What's up?

We want to make sure that you're able to place outbound calls on your device. Are you able to call other phone numbers in your contact list with no issues? Are you able to receive incoming calls with no problem?

I am able to call almost anyone in my contacts or not in my contacts, without issue. I receive incoming calls from my contacts and from spammers. It is the intermittent nature of this that is maddening. My spouse got an iPhone 14 Pro Max the same day I did and there is no problem dialing the two toll-free numbers on that phone. Also, for one of the two numbers, I was able to get through today on my phone but the other one I couldn't get past the "Call Fail." I did, however, get through on a T-mobile iPhone 7 that I carry for my club.
