I just received a new iPhone XR from work - a new line of service. After setup I noticed I wasn’t able to receive text notifications when setting up my new Google account. From there I texted my co work r who has an Android phone. He received my text, but when he responded I never received it. I went through troubleshooting steps and reset my network settings, signed out of iMessage, with no luck. I can text my personal iPhone fine, but again I don’t receive a response when I reply. This is an odd issue for sure and my next step is try and call Verizon support since the issue seems to be carrier related.

@Itguy80 ,
It's great to know that you have a new phone, but let's get some more info on this to best assist you. You had said that this phone was provided to you by your workplace - is your line on a business account then?
As for your phone settings, if your phone is able to send texts without issue, but not receive, then that would indicate some setting on your phone preventing the return, but that's where we need to know more on this. Please go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Do not post the specific entries here here, but you should have your Apple ID email address and your phone number listed under each section in this menu. Which one (phone number, Apple ID, or any other option listed) has a checkmark next to it under the Receive/Reply and Start sections?

Called Verizon business support today. They were able to fix the issue on the carrier side. They said this happens a lot with new lines, activation almost completes 100% but sometimes the texting piece gets “stuck”.
