Child phone not receiving text invitation to pair with Smart Family

I am trying to set up Smart Family, and when I request the invitation to be sent to my son’s phone, he do net get the text. Is there a way to do this  a different way. I had tried sever times. Restarted his phone. Tried downloading the Child/Companion app. I need to pair his phone with mine.  Thanks!

Making sure you can get Smart Family set up for your family is important, Las4. My kids are too small still to need this, but I also plan to use this when they are older, and I would be frustrated if I was having some trouble getting it set up. What make/model devices are we trying to send the invite too? What plan is the child phone on with Verizon (Just Kids, Mix & Match Unlimited, My Plan, etc.)?
