Hi,
I bought an iPhone 14 Pro through Verizon, but lost my job a couple of months after. Haven't been able to return the device to Verizon because they don't accept it if it's been more than a month. I had to leave the country (USA) and come back to my own (INDIA).
Now I have a device that doesn't work because it's locked and an account with collections that I presume is sending notices to my address that I don't live at anymore. What can I do with my device? How can I make payment/return device?

I'm sorry to hear you suffered a job loss. I've thankfully not had to experince that myself, but my best friend has had it happen to him and I know it's rough. To clarify what you shared, the account is not active, and you've recieved information it has been transfered? Also are you currently in the US or no?

I deleted the e-sim and I had one paper mail from collections. I'm unable to reset the password on my account via email so I assume the account doesn't work anymore. I don't have contact for collections either.

Deleting the eSIM is most likely unrelated to the phone being locked. If you had to terminate your Verizon service before 60 days, that's why the phone is still locked as the unlocking policy states you have to use the phone on Verizon's network for 60 days and then it automatically unlocks.
As for being locked out of your Verizon account, yes, all account access gets revoked as soon as you disconnect service. There is no way to log back in without getting CS on it and several of us have been mentioning this as an IT issue which really needs to be addressed.
However, because your account went to collections, it is now off of Verizon's plate and the collection agency's responsibility now. If the paper notice you received did not have contact information, an internet search engine lookup of the company's name ought to give you some information.

@karanpashine, if your outstanding balance has gone to collections, you'd have to contact the collection agency for whatever details they require on the payment. I am assuming you noticed it showing up on your credit report. Unfortunately, the phone can't be returned. Sure hope things have gotten better for you in India now, and sorry to hear you lost your job in the US.
@vzw_customer_supportthe OP is in India currently.
