DUPLICATE TEXT MESSAGES

I am so frustrated right now.  For over a month, my iPhone 4 has been sending duplicate texts, sometimes hours and days later.  My phone shows that the original text has gone through, but then the recipient will tell me hours later that they received the same message again.  I called Verizon to discuss the issue and they said they didn't know what was going on but would try to fix it.  Well, it hasn't been fixed.  This is terrible - what can be done about this???

I have had the same issue about the same time.. I haven't been to verizon yet to explore this problem.  But it's driving me and my parties mad!!!
