I have an iPhone xs - it has been dropping wifi calls regularly. I get one bar of reception. My wifi speed is > 100 Mbps. Other VOIP apps like Vonage, Skype work very well.
I thought maybe it was that iPhone, but I just now upgraded to iPhone 11 Pro and am still having the same problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, drdredsnomo. We are very sorry to hear about the recurring Wi-Fi Calling issue you have been experiencing from your iPhone Xs to your iPhone 11 Pro. We completely understand how peculiar this issue is and we will be more than happy to go through some steps to make sure that your Wi-Fi Calls are more consistent. When did this Wi-Fi Calling issue first start happening on your iPhone 8? Are your calls dropping also when your device is not connected to Wi-Fi in your home? BrettA_VZW

Thanks, Brett,
The problem started with my iPhone XS and continued with my iPhone 11 Pro. I have checked that the
"Wifi calling on this phone" setting is enabled.
Thanks SO much for your quick response!

You are so welcome drdredsnomo. I appreciate you for the details. Are you having trouble connecting all Wi-Fi connections or just one particular one?

Jennifer,
That's a great question. I don't notice dropped calls when I am away from home. Not sure if it is because other wifis work better. My guess is that my home wifi is the culprit - it is an xfinity pod wifi system.

The problem happens whenever I have only 1 bar of reception. It does not happen when I am outside of my home and not using wifi calling.

We're sorry to read that you are having issues with your Wi-Fi Calling, and we are here to help. Does the device show that the call is being placed through Wi-Fi when you drop calls? Does your service improve when you are outside?

How can I tell if a call is being made via wi-fi? I do know that wi-fi calling is enabled.
Thanks again for any advice!

Thanks! Let me double check that the VZW Wifi symbol is showing on the expected calls. I will post an update soon.

OK. I do not have the Verizon WiFi icon showing when I make calls from home (where I have the dropped call problem). So I went to my iPhone 11 pro settings and I do have WiFi calling enabled. I then went to my Verizon account settings and made sure this iPhone has HD Voice enabled.
Thanks for any and all advice on next steps!

Hello there, drdredsnomo! Nowadays, we depend on our cell phones for practically everything, and our mission is to have this resolved as quickly as possible. Can you please tell us a little more? When did this issue start? Do you experiencce dropped call indoors or outdoors?

This issue has been going on for several months. It happens when I use my phone at home which is almost always indoors. My internet provider is Xfinity and I had them do a remote check on router function but seems fine. I have a very fast internet connection >200 Mbps. Jitter is low so I don’t think that is the problem.
How can I get the VZW Wif-fi icon to appear when I am calling from my iPhone? As stated previously, I have WiFi calling enabled and HD voice is activated as well.
Thanks for your advice.

We can certainly understand wanting to ensure your features are functioning properly and are happy to help. Does the phone display a Wi-Fi connection at the top of the screen when connected? StanleyC_VZW

Wifi icon is on the iPhone screen - and it always shows a good connection. That means my WiFi connection is fine. When I make a call, the VZW Wi-fi does not show up and my calls drop. Can you tell me how to rectify this problem? Remember: I have WiFi calling enabled as well as HD voice so those are not the problems.
I believe the problem is that the VZW WiFi system is not kicking in. That is why I really, really want to know what to do to get the VZW WiFi icon to show up when I am making calls at home.
Thanks for any advice!

We appreciate the information. Wi-Fi Calling will activate in your iPhone when the Verizon signal is low. When you turn OFF the Wi-Fi setting, how many bars is your phone showing? https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/make-and-receive-wi-fi-calls-iphf90f372f0/ios
