Dropped phone in river

I bought iphones for my 2 daughters and myself last year. My 14 year has dropped her phone numerous times and cracked the screen protectors. My 16 year old has always been the one to keep her phone looking new for years at time. I decided I probably need to get insurance on the phones so I got the Multi Device Protection insurance 4 days ago. Yesterday my 16 year went to the river with her friends and fell and her phone went into the water and hit a rock. Screen is busted (the protector) and it cracked the top where the camera is, not protected, and the screen is black. The phone works because it’s making the alerts sounds when she gets a message and when someone calls. Can I file a claim this soon or do i need to wait? I know it has water damage because I took the sim out and looked at the LCI and it is red indicating water damage. Can that be fixed without her needing a new phone?

It looks like the previous link wasn't sent properly. Here's the correct link: https://www.phoneclaim.com/verizon/ You don't need to wait before making a claim, so you should be good to go on the website and get started. We hope you're able to get your daughter a working phone soon.
