Equipment Purchase

I went thru the process of upgrading two iPhones and the Plan. The offer was for a trade-in so I was getting a trade-in value that made the cost of each phone 2.77/month. The final page was a breakdown of the amount due now, the first payment amount and the eventual monthly payment amount. There was a charge titled โ€œequipment purchase โ€œ for 230.06. Can anybody explain the definition of this equipment purchase. If Iโ€™m paying monthly then what is this?

thanks

Hello, rlingen, that's certainly exciting to hear that you're able to take advantage of such a great offer for your new iPhones! As far as the charge, are you referring to a charge you see in your order summary when checking out? If so, do you see this is associated with tax for your purchase?

There was a โ€œpay nowโ€ charge of 230.06 that was the activation fee, shipping charge and sales tax.

Under the โ€œnext billโ€ amount under one of the new phones charges was a one time charge of just over 231. This consisted of surcharges, fees and the โ€œequipment purchaseโ€ charge of 230.06.

Since these two amounts are equal are they the same charge?  If we pay 230.06 will the โ€œequipment purchaseโ€ charge be removed ?

I do have screenshots of these charges if they will help.

Great question!  There will not be duplicate charges on the bill.  If a charge is paid before the bill is generated that charge would be removed.-Joe
