Existing Customer Phone Upgrades

I am a customer of Verizon for 15 years, and yesterday we went in to get my wife a new phone. We saw some of the promotions that get a second iPhone 11 free, but I was informed this was only on a new line. This is really unfortunate, and I would love to talk to someone in customer loyalty. I am considering leaving Verizon and returning my wife’s phone if nothing can be done. Pretty poor that the deals are only for new people and not the long time customers. How can I get an upgrade for myself for free, similar to the stuff for new lines?  Do I really need to cancel one of our lines and re-open one or leave Verizon?
