Getting a “not a valid voicemail number” when my voicemail is called

I have an iPhone 7plus and I have lost my voicemail. When callers try to leave a message they get a “this number is not a valid voicemail number” message. My voice mail was set up ages ago and has worked perfectly up to now. What’s up?
