I’m a new customer and tried to port my number over to Verizon. I purchased a new phone taking advantage of a great sale.
I was told via email it would be ready within 2 hours. Almost 3 and half hours had past and I called customer service that lets me know it should have been ready and picked up. I stated this is not a busy store. What seems to be the hold up. I was told all they will do is scan and hand you the device. I stated that takes almost 4 hours. I should have ended service there. This was only the beginning of my Nightmare.
I go to the store to pick up the phone the security was the most pleasant person in the store. I was walked to a sales person the young man was very king and the woman with him was a bit abrup and stated maybe see you I.d. Check it and said I will be back with your device. Came back 5-10 minutes later handed it to to me from the back of the store and said have a nice day. Walked away no offer of a case or any add on or making sure the more than $1000 device even worked. I was floored at the lack of customer service. Very disappointing T-Mobile and AT&T at least make sure you walk out with a fully functioning device. That needs to be the same at Verizon. Even if it was ordered o line. That’s giving o I don’t get commission or credit so I’m not gonna bother. That’s horrible customer service.
took it to my office tried to set it up and 6 hrs later the phone still was not in working order. Called customer service many times and they did what they could over the phone. The. Finally headed back to the store . Then sample security guard who gave the best customer service where you walked in asked me o your back. What can we help you with. I told him I need to Finnish the setup for the new phone. He took me to the manager that was there it had to be a little after 6pm. I explained the porting issue in detail he pressed some codes to check out the functionality of the port and stated the port fully worked. Also that when you buy off line we just hand you the product and that about it. I was very disappointed in this because that’s not good customer service. He said I could call customer service to get some help and that’s all he can do. He walked away and during the next 50 minutes in the store not one sales person asked if I needed anything or was ok or was interested in any items for sale. I’m a new customer and this was a nightmare. Music so loud in there customer service and myself could barely hear. Customer service on the phone Verizon is amazing and the store could learn from them. I was at 1293 broadway NY, NY 10001 I will never go there ever again and almost canceled my service. It was loud people working there talking about they vacations and who’s coming in tomorrow and who’s doing what with who and not a bit of customer service. This store when it was on 7th ave was just as bad and even worse now that it’s on 6th ave and 34th. They can over to me to let me know they were closing in 10 minutes and if I can tomorrow around 1pm they would have time to help me. Absolutely disgusting. I have worked in customer service 39 years if fire them all. Standing around not helping the companies bottom line. I still may cancel my service I’m disgusted this phone still doesn’t even work even with them trying to change the number it’s a paper weight. I might just go to AT&T they might be expensive but I will get respect for my money and time .
