How do I activate my iPhone 5?

I know there are a ton of threads about this, I've read most of them, and wow are there some conflicting answers

I have 5 lines. My dad's line was eligible for an upgrade

I ordered the iPhone 5 on line A. I didn't do any alternate upgrade, nothing. Just ordered it on line A, for line A.

When asked if the iPhone would be used internationally, I selected "no"

I am going to pick up the iPhone 5 from FedEx in about an hour.

I want to activate it for line B.

How do I do this? Do I just do it? I am hearing that if I turn the phone on, the SIM will automatically set to line A, then I have to wait 24 hours for the SIM ot age? Will it have a SIM since I selected no for international use?

What is the best way to activate my iPhone 5 that was ordered for line A, on line B?

thank you in advance Smiley Happy

Ok one yes you did do an Alternate. Upgrade if you order it on one line and switch it to you like that is what the upgrade is called. Now to set it up hook it up to iTunes dile *228 hit option 1 and put in the number you want the iPhone 5 on the wait for her to say enter account pass word an you should be set

once you get the phone and before you turn it on, call VZW to let them know you want to move it over to Line B. Every story and thread on here is different so it all depends on what you believe. I call VZW when I received mine, had them switch it over to another line (just like you). They said it may take up to 24hrs to activate. Mine self activated after about 2 hours and I received a notice on the phone as I was playing around with some of the settings. You can also check your My Device on your account online and once it shows then you are good to go. I think while it in process it says something like Pending or Waiting Activation. All the best

You can't do *228 option 1 because 4g doesent take to that. Either you can do what others suggested or you can go to the store and replace the sim for the new number.
