How do I transfer contacts from basic phone o iPhone?

I Need to back up my contacts to my new iPhone from basic phone LG octane?

A leap from basic to smartphone was a great choice, Maxie123. Now let’s see about those contacts, hopefully the Octane either has already ran Backup Now or the Octane is still active and can run the Backup Now.  If this has not been ran here are those steps: http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-53718/

Once the numbers are backed up through the above process, it’s then a matter to activate the iPhone, set up an Apple ID, and install this program from the App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/backup-assistant/id415976837?mt=8
Once installed, then follow the onscreen directions to complete the transfer.
