I'm travelling toVietnam this summer and I'd like to know if I can use my Verizon iphone 5 in Vietnam ?

This summer I will have a chance to visit Vietnam, I'd like to know if I can bring my iphone 5 to the country and simple change the SIM card and it will work with the local carrier ?. If anyone has done this before and it works, please advise.
