Where was the code coming from? In-store or online? You don't get the credit until the old phone is returned and inspected. Edge is not a contract.

Did you get yet? I have same issue with u. I have not got promotion code, call Verizon numerous time, they asked you wait for five business days, after it, call them again, ask you to wait two more days, after it, they said wait for 1 days, call them yesterday, they said wait for another five days again. Is this Verizon service? I am thinking drop the service

VZW to the rescue! Teh code is sent via email. Did you check your junk email to see if it was sent there? If you do not have an email on your account, the code would be sent via a text message to your phone. Have you tried contacting the Trade In Center for assistance? They can be reaches at 800-416-8894.
Did you submit your trade in after porting in the new number and enrolling in the Device Payment Plan (formerly Edge)? Where did you add the new line? Was it done at the VZW store, online, or over the phone?

< jj569106> I added new line in VZW store( dealership, store code: M8384,not corporate store). No, I haven't submitted trade in yet, store told me Verizon will send me promotion code via text message after port in is successful, then I need to go line to select device, enter promotion code, then trade in value will be shown as $200, without code, it is shown $0 value. So far I have NOT got promotion code yet, so I can't submit. I called 800-416-8894 numerous times, answer is always wait for 2 days, the code would be sent to you, but never come, I also check spam folder and inbox, no email from verizon wireless so far. Until yesterday, customer service suggested me to go back to store to ask store to request generate code, so I will call verizon customer service at the store to have three parties to be on same page, where is the problem. If it would NOT work out, I am planning to file complaint in local Better Business Bureau, BBB Online Complaint System | Get Started, verizon wireless is on the list. This is one of worst decision to switch to Verizon. I will post my experience in facebook, all social media to spread out the worst customer service in wireless company. I hate to do it, but I have to do it.

I didn't have existing account when I port-in phone number (8643) from other carriers.
Yes, This is new line of service I started. I enrolled edge program.
I made this purchase on Jul 22, 2015
Motorola Droid phone I plan to trade in, it is smart phone and in good condition, listed in VZW web site.
I went the store and then called customer service, customer service said no need to talk with Verizon store agents, Crap!!!!, Why yesterday's customer service asked me to go to store and they will tell store agent how to do it. VZW customer service played kick ball game. I am filing complaint in local Better Business Bureau, BBB Online Complaint System | Get Started . We will see.

Thank you for this information. Did you activate the new phone on July 22? If not, when did you activate the new phone? It can take 5 days from when the device is activated (not purchased) for the code to arrive. Our Verizon Device Recycling Team at 800-416-8894 will be best capable of helping you receive the code.

I activated the new phone on the day I ported in, July 22, 15. I said I called 800-416-8894 numerous time, no code sent to me so far, I am planning to complaint in local Better Business Bureau, BBB Online Complaint System | Get Started . If you don't have any better suggestion, don't respond my post, it is waste my time to give you information, which you can't resolve. I am not trying to be rude, but VWZ customer service put me on this situation.

I understand your concerns regarding your trade in. Our Verizon Device Recycling Team would be more than happy to work with you in retrieving a new code. I would also highly recommend updating your email account associated with your account on vzw.com because the code is also sent via email.

Finally, I got my promotion code after called VZW customer service eight times. Customer Service Agent, Krista, in New York Call Center, called me back today and gave me code via Text Message. Among those eight times, three of eight said they would call me to follow up on the next day, but I never received any phone call from them. Only Krista did what she said, I appreciated her commitment, finally helped me get the code during our conversation today. It really relieves my outrage to VWZ customer service.
ChristopherM_VZW: The code is from text message, not email. So next time, don't give any wrong or guess information in this forum. It hurts VWZ customer support reputation.
