New owner . 1st time smart phone user. Can,t get a 3g or WI FI signal. Am I missing something?

You might need to call tech support at VZW for help. They would be able to better troubleshoot whatever your issue might be with more details.

I would be glad to help with your activation on your iphone. Have you activated your device thru itunes? Please dial *228 send then if prompted press 1. Our support site is under going some changes today. Here's a link to apple site for information about getting started.  

 

A great reset on the iphone to also try is press and hold front and top button until the apple logo appears (approx less than 15 seconds) and release.

 

 

Please let me know if you are still experiencing issues, I'd be glad to further troubleshoot.
