I upgraded to 8.1.3 and now can't send messages

Help, I can no longer receive messages since I updated to 8.1.3. It goes through imessage, but not my Verizon account phone number. I'm not receiving any of those texts and receivers say that my messages are coming through imessage. All receivers not on apple don't get my messages, and I don't get theirs?

Sorry for the trouble with messages, jsvagerko! In order to help, I'll need to know your messaging preference. If I understand correctly, your 5s is currently set up to default iMessage for texts. Are you an iMessage user or do you prefer to use standard text messages?
