Avoiding extra costs is always important. I want to make sure you don't have to worry about that. If you are almost out of space and you don't want to add more, you will need to clear up some of what is taking up your space now. You can find steps to manage your iCloud storage at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204247 . Does this help?
