Hi..
I am upgrading to an Verizon Iphone 5 tomorrow at a Verzon store. I want to sell my old Iphone 4 and when investigating, I have noticed that unlocked Iphones sell for much more. So will Verizon unlock my Iphone 4 for me? Is that something that do for customers who will be upgrading?

The iPhone 4 doesn't have a global radio to unlock. It's a CDMA 3G only smartphone.

Unlocking is only worth doing on GSM/HSPA phones, which verizon, sprint and regional operators' phones are not. As a rule, Verizon will not unlock the GSM radios in their global phones to work on AT&T or T-Mobile in the US.

Thanks for helping out dimap52!
Soroko please keep in mind you can trade your iPhone 4 in here http://bit.ly/GGnDDC and receive a Verizon Wireless gift card! You can also trade it in at the store location to assist with the costs of your iPhone 5. Enjoy!

No it physically doesn't have the radio hardware to unlock.
