Is my phone blocked?

I texted an iPhone user who is on the Verizon network (not on my plan), and I think I may have been blocked from calling and texting for a while. My text appears with blue background and has "delivered" at the bottom of the text. Does that mean they received my text? I have searched Google and there are various opinions and I would really like to know the answer. I am trying to avoid calling them to see if I am blocked.  Thank you.

Hello, WILLIAMPARKERBILL, thanks for reaching out in reference to your messages. On an iPhone, blue messages indicate your message has been sent via iMessage to another Apple user while green messages indicate your messge has been sent via SMS/text message. The delivered notification that you are seeing indicates that the message has been delivered to the recipient's phone.

Lauren,

Thanks for the clarification. I had read on some website that the blue message and "delivered" could appear even if I was blocked and that the message didn't actually deliver. For future reference, what would I see in this scenario should I actually be blocked? A certain color and/or "undelivered message"? Again, thanks.

Great question WILLIAMPARKERBILL, SMS messages that aren't delivered usually say โ€œMessage Not Deliveredโ€ underneath the green bubble. A sudden switch from blue to green could simply mean a user has their phone in airplane mode or switched to an Android device. However, when combined with other signs, it could be an indicator you've been blocked.
