I would like to buy music and bill to my long very good standing financially appropriate verizon acct. I hate going through I tunes. Is there a way to accomplish this with my new i phone 6 phone?

No. Apple likes, actually insists, on keeping everything on the Apple universe. If you are buying through itunes, or app store that must all be through Apple. Verizon would love to get in on the action, Apple just won't let them.

I'm not sure what music buying options Verizon offers (never paid attention) but any music you purchase from elsewhere (CD's, MP3s from other services, etc) would need to be added to your iTunes library in order to sync it for use on your iPhone. As long as it's the appropriate format then you can use it and never actually purchase anything from iTunes. But if your goal is to not use iTunes at all...that's not an option other than using a streaming service
