Messages are green from iphone 6 to iphone 6?

I am unable to send or receive text messages from an iPhone 6 to any other iPhone, using my Verizon phone number. The messages turn green and say "Unable to deliver". I can send & receive messages using only my email address. How can I add my phone number? It is grayed out so I can't select it. Please help!

iMessage turned in? 

You ou have your AppleID showing in settings / Messages / send & receive? 

Try ry clcking on your AppleID in field above, signout, then sign back in.

Agreed with Weth. If is best to logout and log back in to your Apple ID to ensure there is no hiccup there.

The other thing you want to check... if your having other issues that are tied to your Apple ID such as FaceTime calls etc. is the time on the device.

Settings > General > Date & Time > make sure it is set to automatic. My son has changed the time on his iPhone 6 a few times to bypass time restrictions for games (to earn my lives etc.) and when the date / time is not correct it causes all sorts of Apple ID issues.
