Recently moved to Canada, we live on top of a hill, and pay for 5G Start. The device, which is less than a few months old, has garbled calls and often will not send texts anymore. I recall being assured that our Verizon plan would work fine while we were here, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It seems unlikely that it's the phone itself. What are some possible causes and solutions? Thank you!

Hi there, tom_L. We can definitely address your service inquiry. As you are in Canada, you wouldn't be using the Verizon network as your wireless provider but rather a local carrier for services. While we do allow our customers to use their devices in Canada, we can't guarantee the service of the local provider only that your device will work there. Since you are on top of a hill, that in itself would be challenging since cellular signal emits straight out and isn't able to angle upward or downwards, so it would depend on where the local carrier's cell site is located to determine how well that signal will be able to reach you.
