I have been experiencing about 0.68 Mbps download speed on my Personal Hotspot for over a week. I am on the Unlimited Data Plan with an Apple iPhone 6. I have only used 1.66 GB of Hotspot data. I connect via USB (with WiFi and Bluetooth off). I have reset the network settings. No improvement. Please help.

Do you have the Go Unlimited Plan or the Beyond Unlimited Plan?

Recently switched to Go Unlimited from 4GB Plan, which had fine download speeds. I'm in sip 92627. Thanks for your expertise.

The hotspot data speed is restricted to 600 kbps maximum on the Go Unlimited Plan.

Thanks, Ann. However, my understanding is the restriction only applies once one has exceeded 10GB in hotspot data. I have about 2GB in hotspot data used so far.

This is definitely not what we like to hear! May we ask if you tried restarting the device? KleoL_VZW

I dont understand this at all I have been using my hotspot to update a game on my xbox the game has 579mb update and I have been trying to update it for 2 days and it's only 70 percent, I also tried updating a 1.19gb update for over a week the completion of that update is currently at 37 percent this pathetic and makes me regret choosing Verizon as my go to for a phone plan.

HappyFella,
Ann154 is 100% correct. Hotspot on the Go Unlimited plan will always cap out at 600Kbps. For the Beyond Unlimited plan, the data is limited to 600Kbps only after 15GB of data has been used. You can review the FAQ for the Go Unlimited program here: http://vz.to/2vDMR8I

Riotstarter1992,
It's vital that there is clarity with the plans so you can use your hotspot the way you need to. Let's collaborate together and put a resolution in place. First, I'll need to gather some information. What plan are you on with us? What speeds are you getting? Please use this link to test: http://spr.ly/6187DxiIV and share the results here with a screenshot. Lastly, what are you using your mobile hotspot for (streaming, work/email needs, web browsing, etc.)?

I'm in the same boat, this hotspot is so slow, used 7.7 GB out of 15 but for some reason my speeds are holding around 600kb. I feel im being cheated since I pay over $300 a month to Verizon. I expect my hotspot to work as advertised or my bill should be pro rated. I have done all the trouble shooting nothing increases my speeds and I have good signal. This is just about the last straw, Verizon needs to fix this or they will lose another customer. I jumped on the boat the day they offered "unlimited" at that point everything worked fast, then they went to go unlimited or beyond unlimited and I got beyond unlimited for the original unlimited price and all was good but since the first of the year my speeds have been garbage.

I rarely use my Hot Spot because when I do everything takes forever to do so. I can't even do a quick facebook check or an email check. Lord forbid I want to do some online shopping.
I signed up with Verizon a year ago with their unlimited plan. I was notified that my hotspot was going from 10g to 15g. Ever since then my hotspot has been unusable. Pages are taking far too long to load. It would be nice to be able to get a credit for something that we are suppose to have but actually don't. It's very frustrating, especially when you need to use it at some point.

It's important you're getting the service you pay for, WELLNESSUNCOVERED. We'd like to take a closer look into what's going on with your usage. Please complete a speed test at speedtest.net and share your results. What's the zip code where you're having trouble? What is the make and model of your device? Does anyone else have trouble with service in the area?

I agree with the people who said that they are feeling cheated. You at Verizon talk about how you have the most reliable network yet we as paying customers (I am going to go out on a limb and say that most are paying well over 200 dollars) have terrible speeds. I can not even facetime my wife because the connection is so slow and the data reset for the month and we both have brand new iphone Xs. Downloads are slow and its terrible. i am seriously considering switching networks. At the very least, It cant be as bad as this and I would save over 100 dollars a month. Instead of trying to "cover more area," how about focusing on improving the area you already cover and make it worth while for us to stay with you guys. I feel like a second rate citizen being with you guys. It would be nice if you could put your money where your mouth is and provide high quality speeds like you guys so claim to do.

Verizon has super fast speeds, sorta like having a fast sports car. But if you want to take it out of town, like using the hotspot, they will not let you put any fuel in it. It is only to look at. 600kbps, REALLY. How dumb is that. If they are afraid of excessive data usage then cap the speeds when you go over 20 gigs or so. Somebody in upper management needs to have an attitude adjustment about their customers.

I’m on the Go Unlimited plan, and am very dissatisfied with the speed of the mobile hotspot. I changed this year to this plan. With my previous plan, I had to pay $30 for a month usage of the hotspot and it was lightning fast. Speed test revealed .62 mbps just now. Can’t stream or download anything without it bottoming out. SOS...

Change to a tiered data plan or the Beyond Unlimited Plan. Your hotspot is functioning properly per the speed restrictions of the Go Unlimited Plan.
