Point of Verizon edge?

I guess I just want to know what the point of Verizon edge was. I signed up for it in February of 2014 and got a phone through it when I signed up, knowing I could most likely get the next iphone when it came out. Well, it's out and there's no sign that I was ever signed up for Verizon edge other than the emails I have that say so from when I originally signed up. I'd like a chance for the new iPhone, because why not, and I wanted to take advantage of a program I signed up for. Just curious what's going on there, thanks!

Are you making monthly payments for the phone you purchased earlier? What does your bill reflect?
