Selling unactivated 6s Plus phone

I pre-ordered a 6s Plus from verizon wireless. At the same time, I also made a reservation at the Apple Store to do their upgrade program. If I do end up going the Apple Store route, I still have this 6s coming from Verizon Wireless. I know I can just return the unopened box to Verizon but my question is can I sell that unopened phone from Verizon without activating it? I'm reading about possible supply constraints for the 6s Plus but who knows. I did pay full price for the phone from Verizon and therefore don't have any contract requirements tied to it.

If you purchased full price, no contract, no device payment plan, owe nothing....it's yours to do with as you wish.
