According to Verizon, I’ve been a loyal customer for over 14 years. According to my records, it’s been 25 or more years. Yesterday, I ordered an upgrade for my wive’s iPad mini 4 for her birthday on 8/3/24. I paid $12.99 for overnight shipping with the promise it would arrive by 8:00 pm the next day, just in time. Today, I did the track shipment to see if the delivery would be before 8:00 pm. To my surprise, overnight shipping means 5 days. The new delivery date is 8/5/24. As a result, I spent 4 hours canceling my wife’s birthday present with Verizon. I received 14 texts during the ordeal from Verizon. None of which actually gave me the answer that my order had been cancelled. I wasted 55 minutes messaging a Verizon representative, that must have been servicing 50 other customers, because she only texted me every 5 minutes. When she was done texting me, she didn’t say goodbye or this session is done, extremely rude. Then, I spent another 50 minutes on hold and talking with a real person. She told me that my iPad 2021 order was canceled. Wow!!! 4 hours of my life wasted. I don’t know who the real dummies are; me for ordering a 3 year old iPad mini, for $899 and paying $12.99 for overnight shipping, or Verizon for taking 4 days to overnight ship this antique to a stupid customer willing to pay that price! I have just got off the phone with consumer cellular, what a difference! My call was answered in less than one minute by someone I could understand. I currently am charged $152 per month for 8 gigs on two iPhones and one iPad. Consumer Cellular will charge less than $70 per month for unlimited usage. I guess that I just now answered my question, I m the dummy for staying with Verizon for all these years!
