For the last 2 days, I have had issues with sending or receiving phone calls. The call drops or I am unable to answer an incoming call. When calling another number, the caller answers, but it sounds like dead air. Unable to hear or speak. I turned my phone off and back on yesterday, and it worked after that, today, it's doing the same thing, only now also dropping the call.
The amount of time invested is noted. Thanks for trying those basics.
In addition, if your phone uses a SIM card, then removing the SIM card and re-inserting it can be a way forward.
Are there other phones on the account? If so, does that other phone have issues with calls too?

I appreciated the info on resetting the Sim card.
I went to a local Verizon store and she did a more extensive phone reset, and so far, so good.
If it happens again, I will try the sim card trick.
