I am someone who is very good at troubleshooting what is wrong with any electronic, but for some reason this one stumps me.
On my Iphone4 there is a picture of a USB chord with an arrow pointing to an itunes symbol. So naturally, I plugged my phone into my computer and opened up Itunes, Now it is telling me that I need to restore it. I really dont want to do this, because i have literally hundreds of dollars of music that I have purchased and I know I will be wiping all of that out in the restoration process. The easy answer would be to backup my phone to my computer first, but seeing as I cant get past this screen, I cant do that. None of my music i have purchased in the past few months is on my Itunes or Icloud.
What do I do? =[

I would restart your phone first. ( hold down the home key and the lock button at the same time until the apple shows up o your screen). Next, plug your phone into your computer. If it allows you to sync your music to your computer, do so. It will then wipe it all off your phone. If this is what your phone is wanting, that symbol your talking about will go away. Then you can restore your phone. After that you can sync your music back onto your phone! An easy way to do that is to click on your iPhone that shows up in itunes. Then go to the tab thaats labeled "My Music" or "Music LIbrary". After that at the bottom where it shows your usage, select the sync option! That will put your music etc back to your phone!
It means the phone is either in safe mode or there is an issue with the operating system that needs to be resolved by restoring through iTunes
