it takes 2 people on the same plan, one upgrade, and one of the 2 people must have unlimited data and the other person should preferably have a feature phone that doesn't have a data plan. first off, have the person with the feature phone upgrade to an iPhone 5, or any other Android 4g lte device. next, go into verizon the following day and tell them you are not satisfied with your phone and want to go back to your feature phone, then offer to put that 4g lte device on the unlimited data person's line. my friend did this a while ago with his mom and it worked.
any question/concerns? just reply to meh.
News flash: You can switch it over to the other line right away with no explanation. It's called an alternate upgrade.
Upgrades, if processed as an alternate upgrade now remove the unlimited data from the receiving line so actually the original poster is correct on how to do it - except you don't need an excuse - just upgrade the line without the data then request the device switched into the line with the unlimited data.
yeah sydney if you just transfer your upgrade they can make you get off unlimited data and thats what ill do thanks crelin.
You don't transfer your upgrade. You simply upgrade the other line and switch over the device, as you originally stated. You just don't need to wait a day or give an excuse. People have been doing this since unlimited went away.
yeah i see what you mean. my friend waited a day so thats why i put it in there but you're right. i'm surprised verizon hasn't tried to fix the system where you can't do that yet.
There is nothing to fix. Verizon has and does allow you to move a new phone to another line of service. So, if you purchase a new phone on a tiered data line of service or a basic phone line of service, you can move it to a line with unlimited data. It's always been this way. You can also buy your new phone on Ebay or somewhere such as that or pay full retail price. The only way you lose your unlimited data is to purchase a subsidized phone on your line of service that has the unlimited data plan. Also, you don't have to sneak around and lie to anyone.
just another fact to make sure you are aware of, is if you by the discounted phone for a new line the do require you to wait 24hrs before they allow you to switch your device. just did it a few weeks ago.
Let's say i get the samsung galaxy s4 on my moms line then switch it over to my line, and before my 14 days are up i want to switch back to apple and get an iphone 5, would i be able to exchange my s4 in and pay the 35 dollar restocking fee and get the iphone 5 without losing my unlimited data?
