We deeply apologize that you were charged for international calls when you thought they would be processed by the apps you are using, artuko. Have you contacted the App Developers to verify they use their own VOIP instead of your phone number with us?
If any app uses your actual Verizon phone number for calls, then the call itself would be processed using our systems, which the international rates would be valid. Only apps using their own number and services would avoid international rates on your phone when calling international numbers.
I strongly disagree. You are implying that Verizon has a right to "intercept" our international calls and charge it at their outrageous rates. We have been using 3rd party apps for many, many years and never had this issue before. Now - if this is Verizon's "new business model" - you must inform your customers and I can tell you right now - the minute that you try to do this again to us - we are leaving....
We apologize for any confusion this has caused, artuko. The last thing we want is to lose you as a customer. We are not implying that Verizon intercepts any calls. Systematically, we don’t have the ability to intercept calls. Let’s take a few steps back on this situation. What application are you using to make these calls? Are you connected to Wi-Fi when you place these calls?
