I've got a Verizon iPhone 5 that was once used on straight talk service, but am wanting to now use with a Verizon service plan. I've heard some say it can't be done, I was can be done. Can it? If so how can I do this?
Solved! Go to Correct Answer
All you need is to go to a Verizon store, have them start you up a line. They will give you a sim card and install it in your phone. No real process for you to complete, it will read the sim and start working on Verizon's network.
Well, normally the answer would lie in whether your previous carrier worked over a gsm or cdma network. Verizon requires CDMA compatibility. However, Straight Talk is a bit different in that it actually uses both networks, and so just knowing the previous carrier in this case is not enough information.
But there is an easy way to find out for sure. There is a model number on the back of your iphone 5. Here are the different possibilities, pasted directly from the apple support website:
Model number on the back cover:
So since you need CDMA for Verizon, you will want your model to be A1429. I doubt you have the Chinese model A1442, but if you did, that should work too.

Or if you already have a verizon service plan, and are now using a 4g phone, then you would just need to take the sim from your phone and transfer it over to the iphone.
