Why am I being charged a device fee on a free iPhone 14?

Maybe I misunderstood something or didn’t hear the agent or maybe they didn’t say, but I recently took advantage of the free iPhone 14 with new line and qualifying plan. My bill reflects a device payment showing a total owed of $612 approx. Am I missing something??

Hey there, Tbrooks3, glad to hear you were able to take advantage of an offer for a free iPhone! To make sure we're on the same page, does your bill show the total cost of the phone being split up into monthly payments for 36 months? What plan is the new line currently using? Can you let me know when the purchase took place?

If the OP is saying they are getting a bill for the phone when it should have been "free", then I'd have to say their promotion wasn't applied correctly.  They ought to be receiving a monthly credit for the iPhone on their bill for 36 months until the credits add up to the cost of the phone.
